Support for Mothers:
Encouraging, Validating & Empowering Women

At the Whole Mothering Center, we believe that any woman can meet her goals in motherhood with determination and
dedication. It also helps to have a strong network of support to help her gain confidence and feel validated in the choices
she has made for her family, especially when those choices may fall outside of the mainstream. In our experience working
with mothers in various capacities over the last few years, we have found the mothers in Southeast Texas to be wonderfully
supportive and caring women who are more than willing to offer friendship and support to other moms.

On this page, we have listed specific situations that mothers may find challenging, and offer some suggestions and
resources local to our area that you may find useful. If you know of something that we do not list on this page, please
contact us.

Support Groups

We're interested in forming support groups for:
New Mothers - Support in the Early Weeks
Support in the First Year
Support During the Preschool Years
Mothers of Elementary School Aged Children
Moms of 'Tweens
Moms of Teens
Teen Mothers
Moms of Teen Mothers

Most of these discussion groups will be held in either a mother's home, or a local coffee shop or other location. We are looking for volunteers who
have "been there, done that" to help facilitate discussions and guide our mothers to appropriate resources both in the community and online. If
you're interested in working with us to host, or attending any of the above groups, or to suggest additional topics or areas for support, please contact
us or come to our next Whole Mothering Café, held on the second Thursday of each month at The Logon Café, 3805 Calder. Groups are formed on an
"in need of" basis. The more call for a group there is, the sooner the group will be created.
